About the event

Africa faces an annual financing gap of over $200 billion to meet its infrastructure and growth ambitions. Bridging this gap requires not only capital, but the right frameworks to channel it effectively. In this high-level conversation, H.E. Javier Niño Pérez, EU Ambassador to the African Union, and Distinguished Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, Chair of Nigeria’s Senate Finance Committee, will explore how Europe and Africa can jointly unlock sustainable investment at scale. The discussion will examine:

  • Blended finance and guarantees: how EU instruments (Global Gateway, EFSD+) can de-risk African projects and mobilize private capital.

  • Capital market development: what African governments and regional blocs must do to deepen debt and equity markets, improve transparency, and lower transaction costs.

  • Sectoral investment priorities: where European capital can meet African demand — from renewable energy grids and green industrialization to logistics and agri-processing.

  • Policy alignment: how fiscal reforms, investment codes, and AfCFTA implementation can make Africa more investable while…
